Hey loves! Since I have a current skincare routine for the winter, I decided to tell you how I do my makeup routine. I’m so happy to be sharing this with you all. I get lots of compliments on my makeup, especially my eyebrows! Honestly being a mom, it can be very time consuming to do my makeup. I’m not going to lie, I am not the person who wears makeup everyday. I honestly don’t have the time to do so, but I have a current routine that I have been sticking to for awhile now. I guess you can say this is my mommy makeup routine. It takes me about 20-25 minutes to do this. So without further ado…let’s get started!
Moisturizer
In order to have a good base for your foundation, you need to make sure that you have properly moisturized your skin. Otherwise you foundation may not apply properly and not have that good of a finish. Now personally I don’t use a primer because I haven’t really come across one yet that does what my moisturizer doesn’t. When moisturizing my skin, I use either my Hemp Seed Oil moisturizer, or I use the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel-Cream. Both of these keep my skin properly moisturized under my foundation. I also use a Rose-Hip Facial oil on top of my moisturizer to seal it all in.
Eyebrows
I get so many compliments when it comes to my eyebrows. I only use three products for fill in my brows. The first I use is the Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil. I will outline my natural eyebrow, and then fill in the sparse areas lightly handed. I say this lightly because you don’t want to be pressing down too hard. It will cause your eyebrows to look harsh. Now if you do this, you can use the spooly side and brush out any harsh areas. Once I have filled them in, I go and use a concealer to carve out the brows to make it more defined and cleaned up. Then finally I use the Benefit Gimme Brow + Volumizing Eye-Brow Gel. I seriously love this, it makes my brows stay put but I feel like it also makes my brows look more fuller and defined
Foundation
I only use like two foundations that I switch out every now and then. My favorite out of the two is the Nars Sheer Glow. This has my face look so radiant and it provide enough coverage for my skin. I would say it’s more medium but it can be buildable. The second foundation that I have recently been loving is the Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation. This is definitely a long wearing foundation and I love the way my skin looks once this is applied.
Under Eyes
After I have applied my foundation, I use the Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Sculpting Concealer. I love this concealer because it’s more hydrating than anything. I’m not the one for matte concealers bc my under-eyes can get very dry. I also use the Tula Rose Glow Cooling and Brightening Balm under this concealer. This is more so applied before I apply the foundation to my skin. This helps brighten up my under eyes once I apply the concealer. It also leaves a cooling sensation that I love!
Bronze
I’m not an expert when it comes to contouring so I mostly use the Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzer. This applies extremely well and blends into the skin well. It doesn’t look cakey and provides a more natural finish.
Blush
Now I’m not that big on using blush but when I do; I use the Mac Spring-Sheen Blush. I love the color of this and I apply this lightly onto my cheeks. This is a blush that I use all year around as well
Highlight
Now the highlight is my favorite part when it comes to my makeup routine. I use the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in the shade Champagne Pop. I love how smoothly this applies and it leaves a beautiful glow on the skin. This is applied on my cheek bones, as well down the bridge of my nose.
Finishing Spray/Powder
To set my makeup once it is applied I use the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder. This is applied under my eyes after I have applied concealer, under my eyebrows, and around my chin and lips. I also use the Morphe Continuous Setting Spray to hold everything together. This is more like a mist instead of a spritz. It evenly sprays the product onto the face.
Eyelashes
I have a confession, I have no idea how to apply false eye lashes. I know it’s a pretty common thing in the makeup game now, but this gal has no clue how to apply those. But I do use mascara. The mascara I have been loving lately is the Kiko Milano Ocean Feel Twist Brush Mascara. This mascara has two sides to it. One side is straight and the other has a more twisted brush. Each side can give a different effect for your eye lashes. It’s very easy to apply and it doesn’t clump up.
Lips
For my lips, I either use lip-gloss or I use ColourPop’s Lippie Stix in the shade Brink. I also use Mac’s Lip Liner in the shade Cork after I have applied my lip gloss or lippie stix.
