Let’s be real, motherhood can be so tough sometimes. We all want to be the best moms we can be. I think the most important thing to remember is “YOU ARE CAPABLE”. This is necessary in putting forth our best efforts as a mom. When we believe that we have a handle on this thing called motherhood, it allows us to be better mothers. Now don’t get me wrong, we all make mistakes as moms. Being confident doesn’t mean you are always perfect. I think the mistakes, helps you learn and develop into a person better than yesterday. Now what can you actually do to be more confident as a mom?
Stop Comparing Yourself To Other Moms
I had someone write this quote on my Instagram one day “Comparison is the Thief of Joy” When I saw this, I immediately thought to myself, wow that’s a deep statement. When you are comparing yourself to other moms, it causes so much self doubt within yourself. This is why you need to stop. I truly believe that when you stop comparing and start living in the moment, that self doubt will be non-existent.
Practice Self Care
A great way to boost your confidence, is to take care of YOU! Self-Care should be a priority and you shouldn’t feel guilty when doing it. As moms, we tend to put our family needs before our own, this leaves you forgetting about yourself. I truly believe that when mommy is good, your family will be good as well. For example, I know that when I take the time to get myself together and look presentable for the day; it provides me with more confidence. Also, please remember that self care doesn’t have to only be about pampering yourself. It can be a hobby that you once use to love and haven’t done in a long time. Practicing self-care is endless!
Love Yourself
When you have low-self esteem and feel bad about yourself, you may have a hard time with motherhood. Sometimes mothers who have low self-esteem struggle with confidence in themselves. I can attest that this is something that I have struggled with for a long time. At this time, I think it’s important to focus on regaining back that confidence in yourself. And this starts with loving yourself. When you feel good about yourself, you feel better about those around you. Stop being so critical and unsatisfied with yourself.
Appreciate the Small Wins
Have you completed a task that was time consuming or cooked a meal for the day? Helped your child reach a milestone, or finished all of the laundry for the day. I think it’s important remember to appreciate the accomplishments. Whether it’s something big or small, celebrating an accomplishment makes you feel good. It also inspires you to achieve more, so you can have that feeling of accomplishment. This feeling will make you more confident as well.
Now I know I may not have all of the answers, but I think it’s best to start small. If you have any other ways to feel more confident as a mom, drop them below!
